I've recently discovered a real gem of a woman, who among other things (like teaching Photoshop), shares her amazing textures that she creates laboriously by hand at Kim Klassen Cafe. I'm going to share a before & after photo to illustrate the wonderful effects that can be achieved by adding textures to a photo. "Up-Island Lily Pond" photo was taken by me on Martha's Vineyard...so very Monet-esque!
That was the "before" shot...here's the textured "after" photo:
Both landscapes are lovely, but there's a painterly, moody feel to the altered photo, and though it may not show up as well on the computer screen, when printed out on high quality matte paper, it is gorgeous, and is reminiscent of a Turner painting.
Kim asked that we post one of our photos centered around "gratitude" -I thought this one was perfect, because it sybolizes my gratitude for the beauty all around us on this island, and in the world in general. Thank you, Kim for teaching me how to see it in another way!
Thanks for stopping by, Enikö
